Turn Your Packaging Waste Into a Closed-Loop Resource System

DO you want to hear more? Let us call you.

This is how it works.

CLosed loop programme

1

DIagnose

On-site visits and audits to understand your packaging flows.

2

Design

We build a tailored recovery and recycling process, specific to your materials and setup.

3

Close the loop

We trace, process, and return materials back into your supply chain — or create a secondary market for them.

European packaging act

We work within circular design, build for your operation, creating closed.loop systems for transport and intermediary packaging. Turn waste into cash and save money doing good for the planet.

Why comply?

We work with materials that could possibly reduce waste fees or become new assets. Our implementation is hands-on and secures that you comply with all new rules. Violations will be costly.

The process was smoother than expected, and we’ve started recovering packaging we never tracked before. We’re even exploring resale options.

- Operations Lead, EU Manufacturing Partner

You’re likely missing the most overlooked opportunity in your production line.

Transport foil, protective wraps, and component packaging often go untracked — and end up as costly waste. But with EU packaging regulations tightening, and national waste fees increasing, that waste is no longer invisible.

1

What we can do for you.

Reco starts by visiting your site to understand your packaging flows, especially the hidden or untracked materials. We conduct audits, map material use, and identify which streams can be recovered, traced, and integrated into a closed-loop system.

2

What you can do yourself.

Your role is to provide access to your packaging flow and help us understand how intermediary materials are used and discarded. You’ll also help implement basic sorting steps and follow our guidance on internal handling, which we’ll support with tailored SOPs.

3

How we work together.

Together, we establish a working circular system, one that fits your production, meets compliance goals, and may even generate value from what was previously waste. From reporting and traceability to logistics and partner coordination, we stay involved to ensure your loop works.

FAQ

The EU’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) is a major legislative update aimed at reducing packaging waste across all sectors. It requires that all packaging placed on the EU market be recyclable by 2030, with specific design and recyclability criteria becoming mandatory from 2025. This includes not only consumer packaging but also waste generated during production.

Yes. One of the key changes is that intermediary packaging — such as transport foil, protective wrap, and internal shipping materials — is now in scope. These materials must meet recyclability criteria and can impact a company’s compliance if they are not properly managed or traced.

Non-compliance can lead to increased waste management fees, difficulties passing audits, and potential penalties depending on national implementations. Some countries have already introduced fees tied to unrecovered packaging materials, and these are expected to tighten as we approach 2030 targets.

While direct savings depend on national fee structures and documentation, building a closed-loop system can reduce waste classification and improve material traceability — which in some cases may reduce or prevent certain compliance fees. We work with governmental bodies to ensure systems are aligned with reporting and verification requirements.

We primarily work with plastic transport foil and other flexible intermediary packaging used in large-scale production, but every case is assessed individually. If materials can be collected, sorted, and reprocessed, there’s a strong chance we can build a value-generating recovery loop.

No — that’s where we come in. Reco develops full value chains tailored to your materials and region, including collection, processing, and even resale to OEMs when applicable. You don’t need any existing setup — we build the loop from scratch, with your team.
